My personal favorite laugh aloud Volume 1 of this collection from The Satirist website manages in just several scores of pages to poke fun at cults, political parties, conspiracy theories, and Disney. My personal favorite laugh aloud moment occurred upon reading the title "Felix Spielenhammer: The Heavy Mahler. They still reflect cultural elements that can range from the pathetic to the ridiculous cubicles, fast food, and satellite TV , but the stories are more substantive, and, I suspect, more personal.

That said, however, I think in this collection of satires there is something for everyone. Nothing is sacred in Dan's satire and subjects including politics, religion, culture and academia are all dispatched in equal measure. His proposal to repurpose aging shopping malls to house America's growing legions of prisoners is a modest dissection of American politics gone awry and his advice to aspiring cult leaders is not to be missed.
